Heard last night from a Sycamore Firefighter that they are expected to receive 2 new International ambulances by the end of November. .There is also talk of a new engine sometime next year and a new firehouse for station 93. I also thought I heard that Deer- Park Silverton was expecting a new International ambulance soon, anybody know if that is true?

News from the East Side.
As my daughter very quickly pointed out the other day...Anderson Twp. has placed a new Rescue pumper built on a Spartan chassis with body work done by Summit into service at Station 6 on Beechmont Ave. As always, they rotate equipment so not totally sure if the 6's house is its final home.
Also, Union Twp. (Clermont Cty.) dedicated their newest station (Station 52) on Friday, November 30th, 2007. Station will house at least an engine, medic/squad, and the township Haz-mat trainer (wells-cargo). Timetable for going in-service has not been established as of yet, but the Lt. I spoke with seemed to think that things should be a go by Christmas.

gtrdone, yes that is correct, new squad should be in by march ( i believe). getting rid of old deer park squad, putting old silverton squad as a reserve unit (squad 389), and the "new" ford we just got will become second out (squad 289), and the international will be first out. also new seagrave pumper ordered, new for 2009. not sure what will happen to old ft. mitchell truck we currently have as a spare. the last i heard the plan was current engine-89 to be first out on highway and all auto -accidents, new truck would be first out for structure fires.

Because the new E89 is being paid for by a federal grant, we are required to take delivery 1 year after the award was announced. That puts the delivery in mid December of 2008. The Ft. Mitchell truck will go to Command Seagrave as part of the package. Again, because of the federal grant stipulations (we're replacing a 1974 truck that doesn't meet current safety requirements for new apparatus), we are required to take this truck out of active service.

I know that Sycamore Twp. is doing their final inspection for their ladder today in Clintonville. Not sure how it went, but I was under the impression that if everything went well today and tomorrow the new rig will be in a week or two after that. Only problem so far that I know is that it is green!

The newest apparatus in Northern Kentucky was placed into service in January as E501 at the Silver Grove station of Campbell County Fire District 1. The 2007 Sutphen features a 1750 GPM pump, 750 gallon tank and 40 foam. The department has an additional Sutphen pumper on order that will be identical to E501 but with a CAFS instead of the foam cell. Picture of the new rig can be viewed at: nkyfireapparatus.homestead.com/newdelivk.htmlAlso, Independence has also received a 2007 Sutphen for E451, this unit is equiped with a 1500 GPM pump and 750 gallon tank. Should have pictures of this up soon.

Sycamore's new ladder is at the station and is in the process of being outfitted. The graphics are yet to be added and the firefighter I spoke to did not have a definite in service date. I had also heard that the truck might be shown at FDIC but this is not confirmed. Photo of the truck is up at the usual spot: www.cincyfireapparatus.com/newdeliv.html

Confirmation on the demo status. We just picked up the final drawings and will sign off on them this week. Delivery is scheduled for the first or second week of August. The new squad is ready, and final inspection will be 4/15, with a delivery on 4/17 if all goes well.
