Three new ambulances have now been delivered during 2014. They are Ford 4x4/Horton units which have been assigned to Medics 24, 46, and 51.

Are the new ambulances equipped with an electronic "Q" siren? My view was partially obscured, but I thought I saw a CFD medic unit a few weeks ago with the "Q" blaring as it headed north on Madison Road through Oakley.

Mark I believe you are correct. I heard a Q the other day in Norwood, just saw a passing glimpse of a white ambulance ( assuming Hyde Park going to Pleasant Ridge ) and Norwood doesn't have white ambulances

Medic 46 might have one, the unit they got is a demo unit from Horton so it might be on that apparatus only

I see that medic 3 is in a new 2017 ford F series ambulance, not sure if it's a remount or not. I believe the new cabs are a little roomier than the older super duty series.

I see medic 24 has a new unit, are they putting that many miles on them, the old one was barely 2 years old
