CINCINNATI FIRE DEPARTMENT
2008 OPEN HOUSE
The Cincinnati Fire Department will once again open its doors to the public. On Saturday, 10/11/08, between 1300 hours and 1700 hours, each fire station will be participating in the Fire Department’s Open House Day. The goal of the Fire Department is to make the event community supported, very enjoyable and very memorable for the children of Cincinnati and all other citizens.
The Cincinnati Fire Department is seeking the support for this special event from the Community Councils. The Fire Prevention Bureau shall send out letters to the Community Councils and will be meeting with them concerning the event. Fire Company Commanders will also arrange for their Fire Companies to attend their assigned Community Council meeting/s and inform the community of the Fire Department’s plans for Open House Day 2008.
Special efforts will also be made to invite Cincinnati’s 40,000 elementary school children to the event. Posters and flyers are being produced announcing the event. Fire companies will be used to deliver the posters and flyers to elementary schools and other organizations within their inspection districts.
The Cincinnati Fire Department’s “Open House Day 2008” will be a great time for children and adults to learn fire safety and about the Cincinnati Fire Department in general. To attend, an adult must accompany children.
Please invite your family to the event. Refreshments will be provided to those that attend. Distribution of food items will be delivered to fire stations during the week starting October 6, 2008. Additional information on the event shall be forthcoming. Contact the Fire Prevention Bureau at 357-7585 if you have any questions.
