Hi Bob,
Not one of my favorite ideas. The first time that I'm aware that this concept was tried was back in Florida in the 1980's. When used as a transport vehicle the apparatus didn't hold up. Also, the engine company is out of service for the entire time of the EMS run including transport to the hospital. That is a huge amount of time to be out of service. I just don't think this is a sound concept.....
