The 1938 Ahrens Fox (registration #9056) was built and delivered to the Cincinnati Fire Division in December 1938. It is one of three originals built for the city. It was retired by Cincinnati in 1962 and sold to us (Point Pleasant Fire District). We retired it in 1980 and sold it to a private collector in New York. Restoration was never began due to the death that collector. In September 1996 we re-purchased the engine and it has sat in our heated apparatus bay protected by the weather for the last nine years. We have run into problems with restoration ourselves due to financial and expertise factors. The decision has been made to sell the engine to another collector, hopefully to be restored. Tyler R. Cherry t.cherry@pointpleasantfire.org(859)283-2798 Steve's Note: This pumper was shop #25137 and was assigned to Engine 37 and then Engine 7. This rig is equipped with a Seagrave centrifugal pump, the only time this arrangement occurred between the two companies. If you view the page for Engine 37 it is the pumper featured in the ad and there is a photo of the rig on Engine 7's page. The Point Pleasant fire station is located on Turfway Road just north of Donaldson on the east side of CNKY Airport.
