Went up to Van Wert Last night to pick up a part for my Ambulance and was told that the C.F.D. Purchased Three Type III Braun Ambulances. They apparently have been delivered also. They are on Ford E-450 Chassis and have a 168" box on them. This is a drastic change for the C.F.D. wouldn't you say? There are delivery photos posted at www.lifestarrescue.com and click on recent deliveries.

I saw one of the new Ambulances heading down Madison Road and I almost wrecked my car when I saw it. Great looking bone box. I like the new paint and lettering scheme. No trouble telling it is a CFD ambulance.

WOW! That's a big change. I'm so used to the almost sterile scheme of their current "bone boxes". Looks really good! Another surprise is that they went with an "E" series chassis over the "F" series. I'm interested to see how they hold up over time... Wefr15... anychance you could post that pic over on the Hamilton County Firefighters Forum? It's at: hamcofire.proboards19.comThanks! Mark

Based on information on the Hamilton County page, there were 3 of these ambulances purchased which have been assigned to Rescue's 14, 24, and 46.

I recently visited the Braun website (http://www.braunambulances.com) and read the "Ohio Bid". I believe these were bought on a state bid for about $50,000 a piece.
Just FYI...

Per the sales rep at Life Star Rescue (the local Braun dealer), each unit sold for roughly $112,000. If they were selling them at $50K each, they wouldn't be able to get them out of the factory fast enough!
