Does anyone know when & where Colerain Station 109 will be opening? I heard that it will be in the Pleasant Run area (fairly close to the Comm Center & Pippin Rd. area), but don't know an exact location. Anyone know the status or specs of their new Rescue Truck?

I'm not certain either. This station has been discussed for 20+ years. I was under the impression that it was going to be somewhere near the Hamilton County Sheriff Headquarters or on Kemper Road in the Pleasant Run area that you mentioned.
If they've even started construction it's news to me!

Per a friend that works at Colerain, an exact location has not been determined for the 109's house. Apparently they are still ironing-out some legal issues.
See ya! Mark

Station 109 has not broken ground yet, but the Pleasant Run area is where they do plan on building the new house. I have heard that Springfield Township would like to put some of their firefighters in that house as well so they could respond to their area's up north since they do not have very good coverage up there. They already have engine 109 when they bought their three new engines. They also have received their rescue truck but it is not in service yet since it still has to be furnished with radios and other equipment.

Thanks for the info. Is the Rescue truck also an E-One? Do you know any other specifics on this rig and/or the Colerain apparatus moves?
Yep, Springfield Twp. Administrator, Mikey Hineykamp told me that he wanted to try to get a joint station with Colerain, but he didn't know if Colerain would go for it. He said that Springfield Twp. would not pay for a station of their own just to cover the Pleasant Run Farms area.
I wonder why Forest Park hasn't annexed the "Farms" area of Springfield Twp? Forest Park is in a great position to cover that area for fire and police services. It is a really nice neighborhood, yet it has a fairly high crime rate for a good neighborhood. They really don't even get good police patrol due to it's far north location. With the Springfield Twp. minimum staffing, there is actually just one beat car to cover from Compton Rd. north all the way to the Butler Co. border. The twp. float car and supervisor aren't really supposed to go all the way north to the "Farms" for proactive patrol. The basic rule is that they only go up there for back-up purposes and/or radio runs.

Station 109 is at the corner of kemper and pippin. if you head west on kemper from pippin it is on the right hand side. Gorund has broke on it and c ompletion is set for spring i due beleive. As far as springfield twp being there also i think that is up in the air still.
