Photo of the new truck is up at cincyfireapparatus.com under new deliveries. Looks close to being ready, the CFD logo and company (9) have been added, but still missing shop number and lettering above the roll-up doors in back. As for the chevrons, they don't look nearly as bad as I expected. In fact they kind of grow on you a little bit, but you can decide for yourself.

Saw the pics. The rig looks good, but I still don't know about the chevrons.

Remember, Red fire engines, ban the white roof, no reflective striping! Return to the '60's (or 30's or teens)...... Let the photo below be your guide!!!

Although I thought the chevrons were OK (not good, not bad) in appearance, for the record I am firmly in the "traditionalist" camp. All red would be ideal and red with a single white stripe is OK.

At around 23:00 on April 4, 2008, Squad 9 put the new apparatus in service. It still needs "Cincinnati Heavy Rescue" on the box and "Cincinnati" across the front, but it is fully functional. I was fortunate enough to be detailed in for the day (April 5) and managed to get a few photos which I will post in the near future.
Stay Safe,
George
