These are the most common color schemes seen these days. If you would like to see another color combination, please post a message.

Interesting question, but I beleive that the city's policy is uniformity. This is the same reason no company is allowed to add company designs. IT would be interesting to see different variations. Instead of new paint schemes, how about expanding from the "CFD" on the door to include some other designation. Or better yet allow companies to add designs to the side of the apparatus. Just a few ideas.

Doug, Doug, Doug, Sorry pal but I'm on the side of tradition here. The apparatus have said CFD on the side for 100 years. Company Personalization would be great, but leave the front doors alone! (Unless we can give the trucks their real numbers back)

The over all color scheme of an apparatus in any location is done so for safety reasons. Many Fire Departments years ago thought that the yellow or chartruesse was more visible. We now now through research, that red is the safest. Satatistically it has been shown to cause people to associate with emergency and therefore, it generated the safer apparatus.
I never thought I would like the red/white combination we now use but, I do. Also, we still have the majority of the apparatus red, so it follows the research as well.
Hope this answers the question?

One change that has occurred with the apparatus entering service over the last couple of years is the "Cincinnati" script over the grill. In using the same style of lettering it actually looks pretty nice.
I do hope that the door seals that are now being added to all of the EMS units don't creep over to the fire apparatus side.....

Well, this poll has been up for 4 years but there are only 9 votes, and my preferred color combination (or lack of a color combination) is losing 6 to 3. Can't some of the members browse through here and vote to change this injustice.........
