I posted a photo yesterday in the column for CR 1 showing a 1932 vintage Ford that is lettered for Lunken Airport. I'm trying to obtain any additional information regarding this rig. Can anyone tell me if CFD or Lunken Airport personnell staffed the rig? Where was it kept? How long did it last? please drop me a line if you know anything about this piece! Crash Rescue 1 PhotosThanks! Steve

O.K., 4 years later and no reply! This subject really does interest me so I'll bring it up again! I'm almost as curious as to where this piece was kept as who was staffing it. Was their a station on the airport property? Maybe the first "CR 1" was at Engine 36 or the 18's? I have a feeling we'll never know, but if somebody hasn't come up with an answer by 2011 I'm reviving this thread.....

I remember some of the air shows at Lunken in the late 50's. There was some type of vehicle, similar to the one in the picture you posted, that was housed in a shed/hangar on airport property. I believe it was manned by the 18's as they arrived on the scene.
