After the fire at St. Pauls Church on August 18, 1899, special badges were made and presented to the members of the C.F.D. that worked the fire. These badges were made from the bell of the church which had been destroyed.
Does anyone have any idea as to how many of the badges were made and were officers given badges that designated their rank or were all badges marked "Fireman"?

I've seen 3 of these badges from the St. Pauls fire and they were all different. Is there anyone else out there that has one of these nadges who could e-mail me a photo of theirs?
Thanks...

Some times persistance pays off. I finally have the answer to the question regarding officers being issued badges from the St. Paul's fire. The photos that you can view at this link say it all: www.youngstownfire.com/forums/index.php/topic,2471.0.html. Now, if this badge was in my collection it would be even nicer!

I cannot get this link to work! It will not pick up the entire address after the comma..... www.youngstownfire.com/forums/index.php/topic,2471.0.html
