Hello. I saw Ladder 49 yesterday, on the day that it opened. Is this kind of topic something that you firemen and buffs like to discuss, or is it something you prefer not to talk/think about? Thanks.

I thought the movie was good. There were some flubs in there, but it was far superior to "Backdraft". The apparatus shots were interesting....

Yes...... I'm not a fireman, but from what I do know, these movies are entirely worthwhile, but there are flubs and "incorrect" things here and there with regard to fire department operations...... over-sensationalism or whatever. But it is certainly good to give the general public an idea of what firefighters have to face, etc. I checked on the web and found the Baltimore house/apparatus list. I think they have about FOURTY TWO houses. Appears they do have an E-33 but not a Truck 49. Maybe I am just used to these TV melodramas or whatever, where there are usually "good" endings, but I really did not expect the guy to die in the end. Two deaths plus one firefighter with the burned face seemed like maybe just a little too much. Of course, after 9/11, maybe not.

Gee thanks for giving the ending. Some people have not seen the movie yet. You should learn what new firefighters are told. Ears open, mouth shut.

Sorry. Good point. Well...... there are many other parts in the movie that I won't give away.
