I see that Fleet Services has the 1972 Dodge Rosco 2000 gallon tanker that was stationed at the 18's up for sale at today's auction minimum bid of $500.00. Are there any plans on putting another tanker at Lunken?

The 1970 IH/Ansul that was assigned to C R 1 was also parked down there when I went by last Wednesday. Has it been sold....

A new water tanker is at the garage. I've been told by the guys who've seen it that it is a 1200 gallon plastic tank mounted on a freightliner. It has the number 19 on it because of it's use on the airport. ARFF 18 just happened to be the 18th vehicle that was used on the airport. The water tanker will be the 19th. If you look at all the maintenance vehicles e.g...snowplows, trucks & support vehicles, they all are numbered with large numbers that can be seen from the control tower.
It will also be used to haul the safehouse to various sites around the city

Whistleblower,
Thanks for the update. So ARFF 18 is finally in service? How long has it been two years or more?
