Hi,
I've been creating a data base of all motorized apparatus that was operated by the C.F.D. starting with the first car purchased for the chief in 1909. I'm fairly certain that all of the engines, trucks, squads, and other major purchases are included. Staff cars and other vehicles are not as complete, but many of them are shown.
If anyone would like to have a copy of the listing emailed to them, just drop me a line and I'll send it along.
Steve

Steve: My Dad and I own ex-Cincinnati E-9, a 1928 Ahrens-Fox, M-S-4 piston pumper. Can you provide us with any information, pictures, etc. about it. Register number is 1762. Curt Nepper and Walt Moller knew it was Engine 9 because it is equipped with air brakes with the compressor is driven off the front of the pump crank shaft. Thanks for the help.

Hey Steve, I have finally figured out how to directly upload databases into the the sever. I uploaded the version of the apparatus list you gave me last year. I am now working on a script similar to the one we now use to upload photo info to access it. I hope to have it in servicable condition here in a week or two. After that, I'd like you to look through it and make any additions or corrections, then we can make it available. I'm still also trying to decide if it should show the whole list, or just the part requested by the viewer. It can extract info by any column criteria or search by partial or complete words/phrases. Showing the whole thing uses a lot of bandwidth, and I'm getting close to going over again this month, even though I doubled my max back in October! We're looking at over 2000 visitors this month! Anyway, let me know what you think.

Hi nwfire!
I'll see what I have in the way of pictures on that rig and post them on the site when I input a new group of photos. That will probably be next week some time. Are you restoring the rig (I hope)? How did the rig end up in the northwest (or does nwfire mean something else?). What kind of shape is the rig in now? That rig was purchased when Engine 9 was reorganized and went in service on 08-16-29 and cost $12,476.38.
Now on to George!
I'll email you a more recent version of the apparatus listing. I think the idea of folks being able to select the catagories they want to view is good. If you're getting close to your limit on space, what's going to happen when Dave and I start loading on fire scene photos in quantity? ;D
Later guys,
Steve

No sweat, Steve, I have 59 megs of storage space left, currently using 41 meg. Problem is with the megs of transfer, I only get 3000 with the current package, and we were up to 2777 on the 29th. I buy more as I need it. You may have noticed the ad in the upper right hand corner of the front page, I have to sell a little advertising now to keep up. Know anyone who's interested? Only Ten buck a month, puts you in front of at least 1000 surfers a month. What is that, 1 cent per viewer? Hopefully won't have to put ads on every page.

Steve: #1762 has been restored and is in working/pumping condition. Fortunetly we received some needed parts from Curt Nepper when he was still around. Complete rebuild of the pump and ground up restoration followed. If you send me a mailing address, I'll send a picture we took last summer. I found it advertised in Hemmings Motor News about 1981 and negotiated with the owner over the next year or so and finally purchased it. Had a friend from Denver go to Ohio and bring it to Denver and we picked it up there and brought it home. We're about 60 miles north of Seattle. It's sister, #1749, another 1928 M-S-4 in located in Port Angeles, WA., at the NW tip of the state and is undergoing restoration at this time.

I've updated the apparatus database with some of the more recent E One deliveries (2003 & 04) shown. If anyone would like a copy, just send me an e-mail.
Also, if someone out there in cyberland can send me a current (official) CFD apparatus roster it would be appreciated.

Hello. I just checked the page that you provided some months ago (from city records --- black backround, light font), and I do not see your new entries for 2003-2004 new E-1s. How can we access your updates? Thanks much.
