I just heard CFD box 3257 (W. Liberty & Linn) dispatched with three engines and three trucks! Is there a new increased box assigment on certain locations in the city? It seems like I have heard this response before...

Maybe it's an increased response due to the heat. I know that they've done it in the past on really hot days. You need lots of fresh FF's on hot days!

Mark, you were correct. I was told it was an extra company on some boxes during the heat alert. Similar to a "snow company" in the winter.

I was told that this was because one of the two trucks on the initial alarm had noted in the cad that its TIC was out of service and as a result they dispatched a third truck too ensure two tics on the scene. Apparantly this info is noted in the cad for dispatch purposes. Wouldnt it be more efficient to buy another TIC or two as spares?

They have to finish supplying all the trucks with a TIC first!
