A group of firefighters, retired firefighters and fire buffs are currently researching a book that will pick up where the last History of the CFD left off (1895) through 2003, the 150th anniversary of the CFD. If you have anything CFD related, we would like to hear from you. Items of interest may be - Photos of: apparatus, personnel, equipment, working fires, firehouses; <br>Books or newspapers containing anything about the CFD; Annual reports, diaries, rosters. If you have something that is not listed, but you think may be of interest, we'd like to hear about it. Email us at historybook@cfdhistory.com

Of particular interest (to me at least) would be photos showing the quarters of Engine 41 and Engine 53. I've never seen a picture of either of these stations. If anyone is aware of what these stations I would like to hear a description.

Engine 11 had a new station built during the teens across the street and a few lots down from their original quarters on Eastern Avenue. Although the first building stands, the newer station is long gone. Are there any photos of this building out there?

After taking the summer off, the History Book Committe will begin meeting again. Our next meeting is scheduled for October 8, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting location will be the 2nd floor of the Cincinnati Fire Museum. If you are interested in helping, please drop by and lend a hand!

The book project has been shelved for a while, for a number of reasons.
