The coverage in today's Enquirer is not good. The CFD has been asked to cut spending by 6 percent for the 2019 fiscal year. To cover the cuts the City Manager has asked that the Fire Department do the following: "Cincinnati Fire Department would put its 2019 paramedic class on hold, remove two ambulances from its daily fleet and freeze hiring for four administrative positions." Removing two Medic units will cause the remaining fleet to run their wheels off! The City could use more Medic units, not less. Granted this is a preliminary budget forecast, but it could prove to be a tough year for the Fire Department!
